Katowice, 12–13 June 2025 – The Novotel Centrum hotel hosted the Recycling Conference 2025, one of the most important industry events dedicated to the future of recycling and the circular economy in Poland. The meeting was organised by the EKOPAK Chamber of Packaging Recycling Employers, and the event was held under the patronage of, among others, the Federation of Polish Entrepreneurs, the AGH University of Science and Technology, and the Marshal of the Silesian Province.
Highlights of the conference included the presentation of medals to companies and institutions that have made a significant contribution to the development of the circular economy. Among the winners was the EcoAction brand, owned by ACTION S.A., which was recognised for its innovative solutions in waste collection and compression. Its innovative bottle machines with baling technology enable packaging to be compressed to as little as 93% of its original volume, making them one of the most effective on the market.
The award we have received is the best confirmation for us that innovative technologies can really support sustainable development goals,’ said Daniel Galwas, Vice-President of EcoAction. We are delighted that our solutions can become part of the systemic change that awaits Poland with the introduction of the deposit system.
The conference also featured a series of debates, presentations and industry discussions, which clearly showed that the success of the ecological transformation – both in Silesia and throughout the country – is only possible thanks to close cooperation between public administration and the private sector. In particular, in the context of the deposit system coming into force in autumn 2025, experts emphasised the importance of consumer education, the development of effective financing models, and the preparation of logistics for the collection and sorting of packaging.
The Recycling 2025 conference was not only a space for exchanging experiences, but also a clear signal that although the Polish recycling industry is ready for the upcoming changes, it requires support in the field of environmental education and the promotion of a circular culture among consumers, because the consumer is its key link.
