The beginnings of the Company date back to the turn of 1980s and 1990s and to the weekly car boot computer sale in Batorego Street in Warsaw. In 1991, three friends who started their business trading in computer hardware components and games established a company called Action – they were Piotr Bielinski, Olgierd Matyka and Wojciech Wietrzykowski, who still are directors of the company and remain its key shareholders today.
The first breakthrough in the development of the company happened in 1993, when Action used the market boom caused by announcements of upcoming introduction of VAT on computer hardware. In 1996 Action took part in Komputer Expo for the first time and signed a prestigious Samsung products distribution agreement.
The subsequent years brought further dynamic expansion: building a nationwide distribution network, opening a modern warehouse on the outskirts of Warsaw, acquisition of California Computer, launching production of computer hardware under private brands, entering the Ukrainian market in 2004 and the ongoing development a retail chain there; the Company's debut at the Warsaw Stock Exchange in 2006, opening and securing corporate sales channels, launching the a.pl ecommerce site and a further development of the Sferis chain in 2007.
Today the ACTION Group is one of the leading players of the distribution market in Poland. Its operations are aimed to ensure that the forecasts presented to shareholders are met. Over the entire financial year 2007/2008, the Company is to generate nearly 2.3 billion zloty revenue and plans to attain a net profit of 30.5 million zloty. That will allow improving the profit margin from 1.23% in 2006/2007 to 1.35% and shall mean an annual increase of the sales revenue by over one fourth as well as an almost 40 per cent net profit improvement.

| 1996-1997 | New branches of the company are established: in Krakow, Szczecin and Bytom (which was later moved to Katowice). |
| 2000 | Computer System Integration Department is created. The Company starts producing PCs and servers under the brand Actina. |
| 2002 | Action introduces its private brand ActiveJet, which wins 17% of the consumables market in Poland until 2005. |
| 2002 | Action is present at CeBIT in Hannover for the first time. |
| 2003 | Piotr Bielinski, the President of the Board of Action is awarded the title of the Personality of the Year of the IT Industry. |
| 2004 | An electronic online sales system is implemented. |
| 2004 | The first branch of Action in Ukraine is opened in Lviv. A new Polish branch is established in Rzeszow, aiding the development of sales in the South-Eastern part of the country. |
| 2004 | Corporate Sales Department is created. Action becomes a computer hardware supplier to the B2B market and for public tenders. |
| 2004 | The head office is moved to a newly built building complex. The Company's office space is increased from 400 to 4,000 sqm and the warehouse area is doubled from 3,000 to 6,000 sqm. |
| 2004 | Acquisition of California Computer S.A., a renowned distributor and integrator of IT systems. |
| 2004 | Implementation of MBS Dynamics, a modern ERP system. |
| 2005 | Signing a distribution contract with Intel and starting joint sponsoring of the Intel-Action Professional Cycling Team, the best road cycling team in Poland. |
